Count our many blessings!
Ben came out of surgery around midnight last night. It was the longest day in my life. But he is doing really well! The dr said his new heart is pumping "hyperdynamically" so it is practically jumping in his chest. Another surgeon said this heart must have been a "God-send" because when they removed Ben's heart they saw it was in really bad shape. And when they put in the new one, "everything fit together perfectly" like it was always meant to be in him. Having a heart transplant is a really big deal and there will still be struggles down the road, but like Dr. Hawkins said, "he has a normal heart now", there is no disease in it and it is working great. We are exhausted but have to thank all that have been praying for Ben. We know that the Lord has blessed him! The recovery should be much quicker; the docs will try to extubate him this weekend!!!

It amazes me how strong our sweet children are! How amazing! We got the stomach flu Wednesday night, so I didn't check the blog for a couple days, and I get back on to hear Ben has already gotten a heart and been through the transplant! What a miracle! Prayers are answered! We will continue to pray for you guys and hope the recovery goes quickly with as few glitches as possible! We are so happy to hear the good news!
Angela, I hope you remember me (I use to work with you at Herefordshire) anyone I cried when I ready your blog. I am so excited for you and your family and Ben. It really is a miracle and how fast it all happened. The Lord is looking out for you and how wonderful for you all. What a strong little guy.
Congratulations! We are so happy for you and little Ben. What a blessing.

I am a memeber of IHH, and I just wanted to say how happy I am for you and your family. I can not imagine the turmoil you have gone through this last week, but what a 'miracle'. I will continue to pray for your little guys recovery, and the strength of your family.
